100% 100% renewable electricity
Our main building is powered by 100% renewable electricity, generated in part by the solar array across our own roof in Rackheath.
Sustainability
Our actions today shape the future. Together with the Indutrade Group, we're committed to a sustainability vision that ensures the manufacturing industry continues to innovate and thrive, responsibly.
Sustainability
In
brief
Milltech's main building in Norwich runs on 100% renewable electricity, generated in part by the solar array on our own roof. 95% of our packaging is recyclable, renewable or biodegradable; we recycle materials and tooling, run LED lighting throughout, and have invested in electric business vehicles and an energy-efficient compressor. Employees across the business are trained through the Carbon Literacy Project, and we report alongside the Indutrade Group.
Our commitment
Sustainability is part of how we run the business, from the culture on the shop floor to the materials that leave our door. We treat sustainable profit, people and the environment as one responsibility, and improve a little every day.
100% Our main building is powered by 100% renewable electricity, generated in part by the solar array across our own roof in Rackheath.
95% 95% of our packaging is recyclable, renewable or biodegradable, and we keep reducing single-use materials wherever we can.
Swarf, offcuts and worn tooling are recycled rather than binned. The material that doesn't leave as a component goes back into the chain.
LED lighting runs throughout the business, cutting the energy the building draws before a single spindle turns.
We've invested in multiple electric business vehicles, taking the emissions out of the miles we run day to day.
We've invested in an energy-efficient compressor. Compressed air runs constantly on a machine shop, so it's one of the biggest wins available to us.
The Carbon Literacy Project
Employees in various roles across the business are trained in Carbon Literacy through the Carbon Literacy Project, an accredited certification rather than an internal slide deck.
That's deliberate. A policy signed at the top changes nothing on a shop floor; people who understand the carbon cost of a decision make better ones at the machine, in the office and on the road.
